Conservation District New-Hire Training

With new hires and shifting responsibilities within Conservation Districts, we have received several requests for both admin and GIS trainings.  To help get new hires trained in the most efficient manner, we have created a three-day training that includes both the admin and GIS trainings as well as a field day. Below is the schedule for each day.

Details

  • All sessions are intended for new hires, material will be very similar to past trainings

  • You may attend one, two, or all three days

  • No cost, but registration is required

  • Space is limited, new hires have registration priority


Day 1 (Administrative Training)

  • 1 pm - 5 pm

  • Material very similar to past admin trainings, aimed at new hires. Visit the Administrative Training page for specific course details. (Note that all links that are found within the Administrative Training page are pertinent to that particular training and are not related to the New-Hire training. The details provided within those pages are for informational purposes only.)

  • No lunch will be provided


Day 2 (GIS Training)

  • 9 am - 1 pm

  • Material very similar to past admin trainings, aimed at new hires. Visit the GIS Training page for specific course details. (Note that all links that are found within the GIS Training page are pertinent to that particular training and are not related to the New-Hire training. The details provided within those pages are for informational purposes only.)

  • Project sharing or training session in afternoon

  • Lunch will be provided

  • Informal DGLVR social event in evening


Day 3 (Field Day)

  • 9 am - 3 pm

  • Sites from past workshop and demos will be visited, aimed at new hires

  • Includes LVRs, DSA, Stream Crossings, completed projects, and a site diagnostic

  • Lunch will be provided
