Centre County

The Centre County Conservation District administers the Dirt, Gravel, and Low Volume Roads Program to provide technical assistance and funding (of qualified roads) for environmentally sensitive road maintenance practices that address stormwater runoff, erosion, and other environmentally negative impacts to local nearby streams from both the roads and associated features along the road’s right-of-way. Since 1999, the Centre County Conservation District has funded projects that will ultimately minimize and reduce negative impacts to our streams as well as improve quality of the road itself in an effort to achieve the goals of this program.
