Crawford County
The Crawford County Conservation District begins looking at potential grant projects in January. We advise Municipalities to meet with us early in the year to look at potential projects. Stream Crossing Replacement Applications are due April 30th and Drainage Applications are due June 30th every year. Our Quality Assurance Board meets in mid-August to make final decisions on grant applications that will receive program funds. The District Board gives the final approval of the QAB proposed DGLVR Grant Applications at a District Board meeting following the QAB Meeting. To qualify for funding in Crawford County, one member of the eligible entity (municipality, PA Fish and Boat Commission, PA Game Commission, etc.) must attend a no-cost, two-day Environmentally Sensitive Maintenance course presented by the Center for Dirt and Gravel Road Studies. The Overall goal of the program is to reduce pollution to nearby streams while improving our rural road network.
