Snyder County

The Snyder County Conservation District became involved with the Dirt and Gravel Roads Program in 1999 with the first application from West Beaver Township. Since that time seven more townships have signed contracts and more funding has been allocated for driving surface aggregate (DSA), culvert and cross pipe installation, bank stabilization and other best management practices. The newly created Low Volume Roads Program now complements the existing program by offering assistance to municipalities for environmental concerns on paved or tar and chipped roads with a count of 500 cars or less of travel per day. Applications are currently being accepted for both programs.
