Lancaster County
The Lancaster County Conservation District administers the Dirt & Gravel/Low Volume Rds. Program in Lancaster County. The program directs funding to projects where road runoff is affecting local water quality. This program funds Environmentally Sensitive Maintenance Practices (ESM) designed to reduce sediment pollution, encourage infiltration, and reduce long-term maintenance cost on public roads. The program has several funding rounds each year and a local Quality Assurance Board reviews all applications before the Conservation District Board approves formal funding.
