Somerset County

The Somerset Conservation District has been tasked with administering and overseeing the Center’s DGLVR program. Somerset County being mainly a rural county with a large number of EV/HQ Cold Water streams, the SCD is acutely aware of the need to limit the erosion and sedimentation that enters the county’s waterways. The SCD is working closely with Somerset County’s Townships and Municipalities to identify potential problem areas and to supply technical support, using Environmentally Sensitive Road Maintenance Practices, and funding to remediate the problems.
