Union County

The Union County Conservation District has participated in the Dirt and Gravel Roads Program since it was enacted into law in 1997. Over the years, the District has assisted various municipalities with technical assistance and funding for environmentally sensitive road maintenance practices to create and better maintain gravel roads throughout the County. The newly created Low Volume Roads Program now complements the existing program by offering assistance to municipalities for environmental concerns on paved or tar and chipped roads with a count of 500 cars or less of travel per day.
