Conservation District Stream Crossing Training

These trainings will support the DGLVR stream crossing training requirements that become effective July 1, 2022. The proposed training requirement states at least one conservation district staff member needs to have completed the DGLVR Program’s “Stream Crossing Replacement Certification Training” and received a certification of completion before the QAB can recommend or the conservation district board can approve a contract involving a stream crossing replacement. – See Proposed DGLVR Admin Policy 7.1.2.5 :

“Education Requirements for Conservation Districts: Effective July 1, 2022, at least one conservation district staff member must have completed the DGLVR Program’s “Stream Crossing Replacement Certification Training” and received a certificate of completion before the QAB can recommend or the conservation district Board can approve a contract for a project involving a stream crossing replacement. A Stream Crossing Replacement Re-Certification Training must be taken once every three years to maintain staff certification. This training requirement does not apply to crossings that qualify for an automatic exemption from the DGLVR Stream Crossing Standard.”

If a conservation district attends a 2024 DGLVR Stream Crossing Replacement Certification Training, this will meet the proposed education requirement.

Pre-requisites: Before attending the stream crossing training, participants are required to watch a recording of Session #1 (see below). This recorded Session must be watched prior to attending the following live, in-person sessions, and will stand as Day 1 of the training program. A quiz to confirm participation may be required.

Additionally, please watch the three webinars that were recorded May 25-27 of 2022 on the Policy, Standard, and Technical Manual. These webinars will provide an overview of the documents and will save some time during the training. Please also try to read through the documents before attending the training.
