Engineer/Designer Stream Crossing Training

We are pleased to announce the rollout of a shortened stream crossing training directed at engineers involved in DGLVR stream crossing projects. The trainings will be 1.5 days in length, consisting of a half-day remote class session, followed by a full day in-person session (combination of field and classroom). It will focus on topics and discussion related to meeting the DGLVR Stream Crossing Design and Installation Standard and restoring stream continuity. Course topics include surveying, design considerations (slope, structure, grade control, stream substrate, etc.), engineer requirements, inspections, and other requirements of the standard.

Intended Audience: Engineers or project designers involved in the design of DGLVR projects that are to follow the DGLVR Stream Crossing Design and Installation Standard.

Notes:

  • Engineers are the primary audience for these trainings and will be given attendance preference.  Spots are still available at the CD trainings here: https://dirtandgravel.psu.edu/education-training/stream-crossings/
  • This training is NOT being required on a statewide basis, although some CDs may choose to make it a requirement or otherwise incentivize attendance.
  • 11 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be offered for this training.
